“Not all flesh is pink”, 2022-2023, Digital Studio Photography

Taking inspiration from the works of „Pics or it didn’t happen“ published by Avida Byström and Molly Soda (2017), this series begins to explore photographic themes of disgust, hyper-sexualization, body hair and women’s bodies. By combining colors and playful forms of censorship the viewer is confronted with representation often forbidden and censored on social networks like Instagram. The naked and often sexualised body of the female figure is caught between social demands and prohibition. The lack of representation of bodies liberated from patriarchal norms has led to an identity gap among young women who believe that only one particular body norm is acceptable.
